As part of the Narok Water and Sewerage Company projects, I supported the development of the Narok sewerage system and a modern sewerage treatment plant aimed at improving access to safe sanitation for over 40,000 residents, directly advancing SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). My role involved conducting geospatial analyses to enhance project feasibility and creating accurate mapping solutions in QGIS to reduce spatial data errors for critical water distribution infrastructure, including fire hydrants and water mains. I contributed to project documentation for the Olulunga Solar Water Project, assisting the implementing agency, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in establishing a solar-powered borehole system that provided clean water access to underserved communities, supporting SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). By engaging with stakeholders and participating in community-led water governance initiatives, I helped build trust, reduce conflicts, and promote resilient, sustainable urban systems that uphold public health and advance sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11).
Empowerment through Research: I dive deep into the intricacies of urban environments, harnessing advanced analytical tools like STATA, R, SQL, and Atlas.ti to craft policies that foster equitable living conditions for all.
I push for policies that guarantee safe, sustainable, and affordable housing, ensuring everyone has a stake in their community's future. My vision extends to creating neighborhoods with community centers, green spaces, and local markets, enhancing social cohesion and opportunity.
My work goes beyond research; I actively engage with urban planning to ensure developments are inclusive, reflecting the needs of the underrepresented. I partner with community groups, NGOs, and policymakers to challenge and change systemic housing inequalities.
